Cabin time

There's something about not having cell service that is really refreshing.

We spent the past week at the Featherstone cabin in Oakley and I'm already wishing we were still there - not one of those trips where you're ready to go home.  We played games, ate too much food, took long naps, stayed up late and so much fun.  Having someone constantly want to play with or entertain Maddie is also a huge plus.

The cabin and surroundings are so beautiful and serene.  Part of me wants to live there permanently.

And the highlight of the trip, I unfortunately didn't get a picture of... but James knows how to pull of pretty much any item of clothing, no matter how small - "Join the Squad."

Wicked

Last weekend Josh's parents were amazing enough to take {almost} the entire family to see Wicked at Capitol Theatre.  To say I was excited was an understatement - I've seen wicked once before, so naturally I was thrilled to see it again.

The day before, my mother-in-law texted us all saying
"WICKED is in 'one short day'!! Let's 'defy gravity' and jump on our broomsticks and leave here at 5:30 tomorrow night.  We're going to a 'popular' restaurant for dinner before!! Get ready for a great evening cause after this night, you''ll be 'changed for good'!! Love you!! -Mom"
Isn't she the best?

We loved every minute of it.  I knew Josh would like it, but I loved how much he loved it.  We now seriously regret not seeing it on Broadway last summer when we lived in Jersey, although I doubt it could have been any better.

Thank you, thank you to the Taylor's for a magical night!

A few that warm my heart..

I'll be the first to admit that my blogging skills are lacking.  For someone who has a bachelor's degree in graphic design, you'd think my blog would be something to show for it.  All in due time I hope. Sometimes I feel like I have so much to say, yet when I sit down to actually write it... well - I end up posting a serious of photos instead.  But to my credit, that's better than nothing right?  Right??

Summer is slipping through our fingers too fast yet again.  And although it's not over, I can't help but reflect back on how good the past few months have been to us.  Sometimes I find myself getting caught up in the "I can't wait until..." phase... "I can't wait until Josh is done with school" or "I can't wait until we have a home of our own" or a million other little things.  But what I really need to do is step back and see how really, truly good everything is right now.

I mean really, spending my days with my favorite girl in the world and nights with my perfect Josh - things can't get much better.

And until I get myself a little more organized and better at documenting our life's happenings (I will get better), here's a few random pictures from the past month.
